'Sometimes in life you just gotta decide to not give a f***': Miley Cyrus reacts to MTV's censoring her 'smoking a joint'
Miley Cyrus' eyebrow-raising appearance at the European Music Awards on Sunday - which included lighting up what appeared to be a joint as she accepted her Best Video award - was cut by MTV for US audiences.
That has to be a big blow to the diva who's been hell-bent on shocking her fans since she twerked on the VMAs in August.
Her reaction? To blow it all off. 'Sometimes in life you just gotta decide to not give a f***,' the former Hannah Montana actress tweeted on Monday. 'Last night was a blurrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.'

Blowing it off: On Monday Miley Cyrus tweeted these photos from her EMA appearance and wrote, 'Sometimes in life you just gotta decide to not give a f***' after her acceptance speech was cut for US audiences
Miley's antics can be seen on YouTube however, which offers a 35-second clip of the Wrecking Ball singer lighting up then squatting down for no apparent reason.
In the UK, the smoking footage was cut from pre-watershed airings of the show, but will be kept in for all broadcasts after 9pm.

Facing the cut: The next day the former country singer said her appearance was a 'blurrrrrrrrrrrrrr'

'I just found out!' Miley told the audience that she had just happened to find the 'joint' in her bag
Marijuana is not legal in the Netherlands, but smokers can't be prosecuted for possessing small amounts and it's sold openly in cafes known euphemistically as 'coffee shops'.
Miley's decision to light up on stage did little to impress many of her fans, with people taking to Twitter to comment on the act.
One wrote: 'Seriously wtf is wrong with miley cyrus?! Why would you smoke a joint at the ema awards?!'

Splitting opinion: Miley's act didn't go down too well on Twitter, with the majority of people lambasting her for the decision to light up on stage

Ever controversial: Clutching her awards and with the cigarette still in her mouth, Miley made her way off the stage
While another added: 'Haha Miley Cyrus is now smoking weed on live TV. What next?'
Even This Morning host Eamonn Holmes put in his two cents, writing on Twitter: 'Miley Cyrus raises eyebrows again . At MTV awards she appears to smoke a joint. Tries a bit too hard to be controversial …'
It wasn't only Miley's cigarette choice that caused controversy at the awards, however.
Arriving at the red carpet bash, Miley shunned a fancy gown in favour of a backless halter top with drawstring detail at the front and sides, with very little protecting her modesty as the audience looked on.
More daring than ever: Miley wore a plunging halterneck top as a dress as she posed ahead of the awards

Put your tongue back in! Miley couldn't resist sticking her tongue out as she posed up for photographers in the backless dress with the words 'Please Stop' across the rear

Tackle the dizzying heights of Miley's mesmerising boots
Miley Cyrus is giving us a serious case of whiplash in this outfit. Her barely there "dress" features the faces of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G, and also says 'violence' on the front. Eeeek! Oh, but then 'please stop' on the back. And whilst there's not a lot to say about that part of the ensemble, other than we admire her peaceful sentiments, once we looked past this, we noticed (well, how could we miss them?) her boots.
These bad boy boots are by Tom Ford, whose recent collections have been so good, Jay-Z has even written a song about him. Taken from the Fall 2013 collection, the boots have been worn in slightly differing styles by Rihanna (of course) and Gisele Bündchen, which makes them even hotter.
They do make our eyes go a little funny, but we actually love Miley's thigh high boots. Can that be right? Are we being hypnotised by those chequerboards? Monochrome trend - check, over the knee trend - check, fierce Tom Ford... what's not love? Ok, maybe this is a look only Miley can pull off, but there is inspiration to be found.
Hers aren't available to buy online but look no further than our edit below of somewhat more subtle styles below - go on, we dare you. Over the knee boots are prone to being provocative, but when worn well they can be super chic. Pair yours with super skinny jeans and a blazer, or actually, any clothes, just as long as there's more to your outfit than Miley's...
